April 23rd, 2008: Elimination of Human Trafficking Workshop at EHOVE Career Center
Theresa Flores, human trafficking survivor and workshop aide, presents her story to 30 attendees from the Sandusky Area who were trained to recognize trafficking victims and learned how to assist them. The co-sponsors included: EHOVE, The Collaborative Initiative to End Human Trafficking and Zonta Sandusky. The UN Committee planned the workshop and plans to continue awareness-type programs in the future.
May 3, 2008, Annual Spring Fling Fund-Raiser at the State Theatre
The Annual Spring Fling fund-raiser at Sandusky's State Theatre netted nearly $9,800. To proceeds help to fund Zonta's ongoing service projects, including the Make a Smile Dental Health Program for women and families. Carol Camisick will play the role of Amelia Earhart at the March 2008 monthly dinner meeting. This meeting will be held at Plum Brook Country Club, Huron, Ohio.
